If you are going to
Salalah, best time to visit is during the Khareef Festival which lasts
from July to September every year. The Weather is warm, it’s one of the
places in the Middle East you can enjoy a tropical summer below 40
degrees!
Salalah is
quite a small city in tourists terms, but has many interesting things to see
and do. For a start splendid Mirbat castle is a must ,it seems abit run down
when you first look at it , but the castle is quite old and have interesting
architectural details. Marneef cave is a place of spectacular beauty, there are
blow holes their and one can enjoy the scenic view of the sea. Tourists should
also visit Al-baleed Archaeological, it’s a UNESCO world heritage site, where
you can find Frankincense land museum there. Alternatively, there is a lovely
wadi with beautiful river close to Taqa and Khorrori which is Wadi darbat.
Shopper will love the Salalah Gardens Mall, which is one of the biggest malls
in Salalah.

Salalah does not have a busy nightlife. However,
visitors can enjoy delicious food at first class restaurant. Like Udipi
restaurant, this is one of the best vegetarian restaurants in Salalah offering
veg food. And Siam kitchen, is a great little Thai restaurant in Dahariz, it is
the only Thai food restaurant there.
All in all, the magnificence of the mountains and
superb weather of Salalah makes it fascinating place to visit.
